How it works

Kybella® is an injectable treatment that breaks down and permanently destroys fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by the body over time. SculpSure® uses controlled laser energy to heat and destroy fat cells beneath the skin without needles or downtime. Once treated fat cells are eliminated, they do not return, allowing both treatments to create gradual, long-lasting contour improvements in targeted areas.

What to expect during a Kybella appointment?

A Kybella appointment takes about 30–45 minutes, including consultation and treatment. You may feel stinging or pressure during the injections, followed by swelling, firmness, or tenderness in the treated area. Swelling is expected and part of the fat-dissolving process.

What to expect during a sculpsure appointment?

A SculpSure treatment takes about 30 minutes per area and is completely non-invasive. You’ll feel alternating sensations of warmth and cooling as the device works. Most patients rate the pain at about a 5/10. Soreness can occur in the area treated along with some tenderness and swelling.
How long is the recovery for body contouring treatments?

Kybella recovery: After a Kybella treatment, it’s normal to experience swelling, bruising, firmness, tenderness, or numbness in the treated area. Swelling can be noticeable and may last several days to a few weeks, gradually improving as the body breaks down and clears the treated fat cells.

Sculpsure recovery: SculpSure has no downtime. You may notice soreness, tenderness, or tingling in the treated area for a few days, but normal activities can be resumed immediately.

How long do results last?

Kybella and SculpSure permanently eliminate treated fat cells, allowing for long-lasting contouring results when a stable weight is maintained.

How many treatments will I need?

Both Kybella and SculpSure may require multiple sessions for optimal results, and a consultation is recommended to determine the best treatment plan for you.

What to do before a Kybella or Sculpsure treatment:

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications or supplements for 48 hours prior (unless prescribed).

Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.

Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying lotions, oils, or self-tanner to the treatment area.

If receiving Kybella, plan for visible swelling afterward and schedule accordingly.

Inform your provider of any medical conditions, recent infections, surgeries, or changes in medications.

Always consult your primary care provider regarding medications, recent illness, and medical conditions before receiving any aesthetic treatment. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What to do after your Kybella or Sculpsure treatment:
